Vega Sport Review

I was given a box of  Vega Sport’s electrolyte hydrator for review purposes only. All thoughts are my own.

I am a Sweat Pink ambassador and was recently given the opportunity to review a fitness product through Fit Approach. What is Sweat Pink and Fit Approach? Check out their story and mission statement here. Basically they are all about empowering women through fitness. Amen to that! I have met some wonderful ladies through Sweat Pink.

I am not much of a supplement girl. I do not remember to take my vitamins daily. I am also leery of most of the products out there. Pre work out? No thanks, I’ll just push myself instead of depending on a powder to give me that extra boost. I get creeped out when I hear of people getting the pre work out shakes. I do not like that products change the way you feel and behave. When I joined my bootcamp class, a fellow classmate told me about a product most of the class used during their work outs. It is an “intra-workout catalyst” which basically means it gives you energy to complete your work out. Sounds like it was going right along with my creepy factor and fitness products but I gave it a try since she said it didn’t affect your body like a pre work out powder. Something I liked about the product is that it has BCAAs in it. BCAAs help in three major areas: muscle building, burning fat and recovery. Ok I will be honest, I REALLY liked the product because it helped me recover faster!

When I was given the opportunity to review Vega Sport’s electrolyte hydrator, I checked out the ingredients when I received my shipment. I was given the berry flavor. Right away I noticed that it was sweetened with stevia. Out of curiosity, I checked the product I had been using for over a year. It is sweetened with Sucralose. Yuck. So before even trying the product, I already liked it since it has safer, plant based ingredients. I brought it to the gym the next day praying I would like the taste. It has a very light berry taste- not bad it all! I am happy I received the berry flavor as opposed to the lemon lime flavor- I am not keen on citrus flavor powders. A huge plus about the electrolyte hydrator is that it comes in travel convenient individual packets. I have thrown a few packets in my gym bag on the days I forget to prepare my water bottle ahead of time. Something I have noticed since using the electrolyte hydrator is that I am drinking my water quicker during my work outs and in turn drinking more water throughout the day. There is some sodium listed in the ingredients so I guess that is why I have noticed the surge in water intake. However, I am not complaining. I like adding more water to my day!

Will I use this product again? Definitely! I gave a few packets to Stacy to try and she has already ordered her own box to use during her work outs. I will say that I miss having BCAAs in my work out drink but I can get them other ways. No biggie. Vega Sport is running a #FuelYourBetter campaign. How do I fuel better? If you know me at all, you know I like to use products with safe ingredients. Vega Sport’s electrolyte hydrator definitely falls into the safe ingredient category.

2353-FuelYourBetter-800x800-v5My better is also challenging myself everyday in the gym. I am a control freak. I am type A- A for anal as I always joke. ;) I have come to NEED my time in the gym when I let down my guard and get out of my comfort zone. I fought my trainer in the beginning. I liked taking the safe route but it wasn’t giving me the results I am getting now once I finally stopped fighting for my safe routine. Who likes being uncomfortable? No one. It took me a while to figure out I need to let go of my need to control sometimes to grow physically and mentally! I am so much happier when I get that hour or so in the gym to break myself down. I am a better person for challenging myself physically with my work outs.

What about you? How do you #FuelYourBetter? What is your better? And have you checked out the ingredients in your fitness products lately?
